NEW CLASS Tai Chi for Health and Balance an introduction to Tai Chi start on Tuesday March 5th at 9:45am through April 30th Explore the essential Tai Chi principles through the practice of Tai Chi for Diabetes (TCD) developed by Dr. Paul Lam and 18 Posture Tai Chi Qigong (Shibashi Tai Chi Qigong) set, a program developed by Professor Lin Hou-Sheng, a master healer, and He Weiqi at the Shanghi Hospital in 1979. This is a good entry level class for beginners with little to no experience in tai chi principles or exercise. Space is limited and advanced registration required. Subsequent 6 to 8-week sections TBA.


NEW CLASS Balance the Tai Chi Way begins Wednesday March 20th at 10:30am is a continuation of the balance matters series. It will study and practice a blend of balance exercises and a short Tai Chi for health set from Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for health series. Seated options are available on request. This is on offshoot from my Balance Matters series which ends March 13th. It is a great entry level program also emphasizing the elements of balance and Tai Chi principles. Subsequent 6 to 8-week sections TBA.


*********Ongoing Classes*********

Mondays at 11am teaching the Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA). It will include both Parts 1 and 2. Safe, effective, and a fun way to exercise your mind body and spirit into balance.

Mondays at 12:15pm is a slower paced version of the 11am class featuring only Part 1 of Tai Chi for Arthritis (TCA) programming. Focus on Tai Chi walk and balance information. Seated options to some of the exercises are available on request.

Both of these two ongoing classes are safe, and effective form of exercise for people of all ages, with or without arthritis or other health conditions. In these classes you will learn the TCA routine along with mindful breathing, Dr. Paul Lam’s warm up routine, tips on balance, posture and much more. TCA is recognized by CDC and Administration on Aging as one of the best evidenced based programs for health promotion and disease prevention as well as endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation New and continuing students welcome.


Wednesday at 9:15am   Explore the basic practice of Tai Chi for Diabetes (TCD) also developed by Dr. Paul Lam and is one of his Tai Chi for Health series. This set includes Yang and Sun style movements. This class also features 18 Posture Tai Chi Qigong (Shibashi Tai Chi Qigong), a program developed by Professor Lin Hou-Sheng in 1979. Professor Lin is a renowned Qigong Master, scientist and Master Healer. His remarkable credentials include Professor of the College of Chinese Medicine in Shanghai, Director of Qigong Research Institute in China and Honorary President of the International Society of Natural Cures. Good entry level class for beginners with little to no experience in tai chi principles or exercise.


Whichever class you choose, enjoy the many health, wellness and balance benefits associated with the practice of Tai Chi, a soft internal form of Qigong, an ancient Chinese health care system, that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention making it unique from traditional exercise programs, in a gentle, relaxed and friendly environment.
